IN HOME MENTOR OUTINGS

Monterosa House

Over the past few months we have taken many opportunities to spend time with the girls at Monterosa House.

We have shared some of our favorite recipes with them and taught them how to prepare them. We have grown attached to these young ladies and their little ones and wanted to freshen up their house a little, so, we started a project to makeover the kitchen and office.

Help has come from Fountain of Life (FLI), M&I Bank, and America on Hold to help us create a warm kitchen that the young ladies and the staff could enjoy and feel more at home.

To start the makeover, a group from several M&I locations, stripped down an old border and repainted the two adjoining rooms. Just a fresh coat of paint made a huge difference to the feel of the room. But we did not stop there.

A few weeks later, a group from FLI completed the room with decorations and kitchen utensils and celebrated with a cookout. A representative from America on Hold joined us and brought along some decorative pictures to fit with the theme of the new rooms.

There is still one project we are working on and that is a “family wall”. Growing up in my family we always had a wall full of family pictures, brothers, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and the list goes on. To help these young ladies have the feel of family at Monterosa, we are creating a “family wall” with all those who have or will stay at Monterosa. We are purchasing frames, so that we can put family pictures on the wall. If you would like to partner with us for this project, you can donate by clicking on the picture frames. The goal for this project is to raise $250 to purchase 25 to 30 frames. Any funds over our goal will be put into our general fund to help impact these young people.
